It has a truly South Pacific feel to it. The decor and surroundings are all unique to this part of the world. Living in the country keeps you in touch with nature and we have put in a lot of energy to preserve the natural environment.
We have planted hundreds of trees along the river banks to protect them from erosion and to preserve Raglan's world class harbour. The 100 year old Kahikatea Forest and wetland areas have been fenced so they can rejuvenate and be enjoyed by our next generation.
We use solar power to draw water from natural springs to feed the livestock. Natural products are used for cleaning and washing. Hidden Valley runs on 100% rainwater for its domestic use. We make it easy for guests to recycle (Raglan is known as the recycling capital of New Zealand).
Raglan is on the west coast of the North Island. It is a picturesque town set around an un-spoilt harbor. Voted the best looking town in New Zealand by the Lonely Planet last year!
You can explore over 100kms of harbour coastline or rent a kayak and discover the many secluded bays. Rich in Maori heritage, the town has grown to a local population of 3000 people.
World famous for its left hand break, the town attracts pro surfers from around the globe, a collective group of artists, potters, clothing designers and restaurateurs live here and add to the town's Bohemian flavour.
A large selection of cafes, bars, restaurants, galleries, live music and adventure activities await you. Come for the fishing, golf, surf or simply to relax on one of the beautiful and remote beaches.
